Getting ready for Elk season

We did some scouting on the coast last weekend

and ran into two heards and a bachelor group.

Season starts this weekend, so don't forget to get you tags!

Black Bear Down

After 2 months and 9 separate target attacks, I finally shot this black bear at 20 yards while with with my 6 year old son at the range. He was less than 20 yeards from target #6, which he had turned in to a pile of foam the night before. We were picking up foam pieces when we heard the rustling in the brush. Single shot with my 7mm magnum straight through the heart put an end to his target trashing days. OWFD classified this a damage bear. This was not the monster bear that took out the Trophy white tail target 5 months ago, but was the culprit that matched the tracks around the last 8 attacks. The meat and hide were undamaged and are hanging in the cooler for processing.
